That’s why we’ve introduced Borrow — a new dedicated section for Mind For Me members to lend and borrow everyday items within their community, with control over who can see their items and whether they accept each borrowing arrangement.

Every community already has many of the things its members need. Borrow simply helps people discover and share them.

Borrow helps communities make better use of the things they already own. Instead of everyone purchasing the same seldom-used items, neighbours and friends can share them with one another. It also means fewer items sitting unused, and fewer purchases for things that may only ever be needed once. It’s a practical way for communities to save money while getting more value from the things they already own.

Borrow can also help members decide whether something is worth purchasing themselves, avoiding unnecessary spending on items that may only be used occasionally. Plus, lending isn’t just generous — it also earns Care Coins, recognising the value of making useful items available to others.

Available Anytime

Borrow introduces a powerful new Anytime availability option. Instead of simply coordinating one borrowing request at a time, members can choose to make items available whenever they aren’t using them.

Over time, this naturally builds a rich library of items within the community that members can discover whenever the need arises:

• Tools, ladders, and pressure washers

• Trailers and moving supplies

• Lawn aerators, wheelbarrows, and gardening equipment

• Camping gear and gazebos

• Party tables, chairs, and projectors

• Baby equipment and sporting goods

Clear, Double-Sided Agreement

Borrow uses the same clear, double-sided agreement process found throughout Mind For Me, supporting two simple ways for members to connect:

• List an item → Request to Borrow → Lender Accepts

• Request an item → Offer to Lend → Borrower Accepts

In both cases, the arrangement is only confirmed once the final acceptance has been made.

To provide a clear and consistent starting point, Mind For Me includes a set of default borrowing terms. Members are welcome to make their own arrangements regarding collection times, care instructions, return dates, or any other conditions they both agree to.

Every item shared creates another opportunity for neighbours to connect, helping build stronger communities through everyday interactions. Mind For Me is making it easier than ever for communities to share what they have and support one another in practical ways.
