A Quiet Pause for a Big Comeback

It’s been a while — nearly four years since the original Mind For Me platform went offline. In that time, we’ve taken a step back, reimagined the experience, and rebuilt everything from the ground up. The result? A stronger, smarter, and more secure way for members to connect, help, and strengthen their communities.

This week marks the beginning of our soft-launch pilot — a fresh start for Mind For Me, publicly available to all, but rolled out carefully to ensure smooth performance and responsive support.

Why We Stepped Back

The first version of Mind For Me proved something powerful: people genuinely want to help each other and feel part of something local and supportive. But as technology and security standards evolved, we knew it was time to rebuild properly — with greater stability, privacy, and scalability in mind.

The Mind For Me Team

We’ve focused on creating a platform that members can trust, one that feels personal yet professional, easy to use yet built on the most secure foundations.

What’s New for Members

The new Mind For Me experience is packed with thoughtful improvements designed to make community connection easier than ever:

  • Messaging directly from profiles – start a private chat from any member’s page
  • Notifications and alerts – see new messages, offers, and requests instantly via the top menu or browser alerts
  • Flexible email summaries – choose immediate, daily, or weekly updates from friends or others
  • Mobile-friendly design – Mind For Me now works beautifully across phones and tablets, with apps in development
  • Verified accounts – members confirm their email and mobile number on sign-up, with optional ID and Working with Children checks visible on profiles
  • Custom profile URLs and QR codes – making it easier than ever to share and connect

New Ways to Help and Connect

We’ve expanded the kinds of help you can offer or request:

  • Carpooling and lift sharing
  • Borrowing and lending tools & equipment
  • Tutoring and homework help
  • New home-related tasks, like preparing school or packed lunches
  • All the favourites – from pet-sitting and childminding to garden help and errands

Borrowing Tools and Equipment

And of course, Care Coins remain at the heart of Mind For Me — a fair, simple way to give and receive help without cash ever changing hands.

Groups and Greater Control

Groups are now available for registered organisations and community groups — such as schools, childcare centres, sporting clubs, churches, and multicultural associations.

If your organisation would like to create its own group, please contact us.

In addition, members can now create private friend groups, giving them complete control over who they request or offer help to. You might have one group for babysitting, another for cooking or gardening — it’s all about giving members more flexibility and confidence in how they connect.

Safety, Security, and Simplicity

Every improvement we’ve made revolves around trust and safety. From two-step verification (email and mobile) to optional ID and Working with Children checks, Mind For Me ensures that members know who they’re dealing with.

Behind the scenes, our platform is faster, more robust, and even more protective of your personal data.

What’s Ahead

We’re excited to keep evolving with our members. The coming months will see the rollout of:

  • Apps for iOS and Android
  • Expanded organisational partnerships
  • More localised community features

For now, we invite you to rediscover Mind For Me — explore your dashboard, reconnect with friends, and try the new ways to give and receive help.
